“Bisque” | Anthony Satori
“What a man does for pay is of little significance. What he is, as a sensitive instrument responsive to the world’s beauty, is everything.”
– H. P. Lovecraft
“Emperor Penguin” | Anthony Satori
Emperor penguins are lovely creatures. They are smart and playful. They slide on their bellies in the snow, and they swim with the grace of a majestic bird when they are under the water. Emperor penguins mate for life. They know when they have found the one, and they stay together from that moment forward, forever. They don’t let anything come between them. They don’t let anything pull them apart. I think this is truly a beautiful thing. If you had the chance to go back in time, would you be like an emperor penguin? Would I? I’d like to think that we would. And if, by God’s grace, I ever have the chance again, I believe that I will. Because in my heart, in my nature, I am an emperor penguin.

“In the Cool of the Afternoon” | Anthony Satori
“And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the afternoon.”
– Genesis 3:8
How amazing to be so familiar with God, that you would recognize the sound of Him walking in the garden. It is such a beautiful idea to imagine, and a worthy aspiration to pursue. I believe that every effort we make toward cultivating our inner connection with the universe – whether it is through nature, prayer, love, careful study, or quiet meditation – brings us closer to reattaining this level of intimacy with the spirit of God.

“Getty Center Garden” | Anthony Satori
If we focus our hearts and minds on the good and beautiful things that we truly desire, then 1) they will be drawn to us, 2) we will recognize them when they arrive, and 3) we will have the courage, strength, and faith to grab ahold of them and make them our own.

“Angel in a Blue Dress” | Anthony Satori
“There’s a spirit in anything, I think, into which we weave our soul.”
– Richard Bach

Happy New Year, everyone!

“Sacred Sky” | Anthony Satori
“And while I stood there, I saw more than I can tell and I understood more than I saw; for I was seeing in a sacred manner the shapes of all things in the spirit, and the shape of all shapes as they must live together like one being. And I saw that it was holy.”
– Black Elk
