“The Italian Alps” | Anthony Satori
“Let us be together. Let us eat together. Let us be vital together. Let us be radiating the Light of Life. Such is the hidden teaching.”
– The Upanishads
“Flamenco Dancer (Ibiza, Spain”) | Anthony Satori
Somewhere along the line, someone probably told him, “You can’t be a flamenco dancer.” But instead of listening to them, he picked up a tasseled cloth, put on some fancy shoes, and started to put in the countless hours of practice that it takes to get really good at anything. And now, up and down the coast of Ibiza, Juan gets paid to set up a 4 ft. by 6 ft. wooden stage and dance his heart out in front of applauding audiences. His mother sings behind him, and his brother plays the guitar. And I say, more power to him. More power to them all. Life is short. Do something good, do something beautiful, do something difficult. Most importantly, do something that brings you joy, and something that brings joy to others. Shine your light in this world.
“Golden Eyes” | Anthony Satori
“I felt deep within me that the highest point a man can attain is not Knowledge or Virtue or Goodness or Victory, but something even greater, more heroic and more inspiring: Sacred Awe.”
– Nikos Kazantzakis
And the beauty of it is this: The very experiencing of Sacred Awe, in turn, inspires a deep hunger for knowledge, virtue, and goodness.
“Windblown Sand” | Anthony Satori
“We need to learn how to select our thoughts just the same way we select our clothes every day. This is a power that can be cultivated. If you want to control things in your life, work on the mind. That’s the only thing you should be trying to control.”
– Elizabeth Gilbert
“Dolphins” | Anthony Satori
“Happiness is the absence of the striving for happiness.”
– Chuang Tzu
Relax. Exist fully in this moment. This is enough. You are enough. This moment is a miracle. Find the love in it, find the peace in it, find the joy in it. It is often the frantic chasing of happiness that makes us the most miserable. Instead, just sit back, breathe, and calm your mind. Be grateful. Be amazed. Be content. “From contentment, supreme happiness is obtained.” (Patanjali,Yoga Sutra 2.42) It is only when we learn to relax into true contentment that any real, lasting happiness can appear and manifest itself.
