“There are only three things that a man really wants to do, all his life; and these are 1) to find his way to his God, his Morning Star, 2) to salute his fellow man, and 3) to enjoy the love of the woman who has come the long way with him.”
“Reason, ruling alone, is a force confining. Passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction. Therefore let passion exalt your reason, so that it may sing; and let reason direct your passion, so that it may live.”
“And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the afternoon.”
– Genesis 3:8
How amazing to be so familiar with God, that you would recognize the sound of Him walking in the garden. It is such a beautiful idea to imagine, and a worthy aspiration to pursue. I believe that every effort we make toward cultivating our inner connection with the universe – whether it is through nature, prayer, love, careful study, or quiet meditation – brings us closer to reattaining this level of intimacy with the spirit of God.
“Meditation is to dive all the way within, beyond thought, to the source of thought and pure consciousness. It enlarges the container, every time you transcend. When you come out, you come out refreshed, filled with energy and enthusiasm for life.”
“The Six Grandfathers have placed in this world many things, all of which should be happy. Every little thing is sent for something, and in that thing there should be happiness and the power to make happy. Like the grasses showing tender faces to each other, thus we should do, for this was the wish of the Grandfathers of the World.”
