This is a very interesting thought. Love, compassion, all of the Buddha’s teachings seem to point to this. We lose this when we practice Zen, it seems. Just my opinion, of course. But these are the thoughts your post brings out in me. In Zen, we focus on the self and the elimination of it, where the Buddha taught us to practice metta, and compassion, which is Love. Thanks for posting this. It has brought back something I had forgotten. It has given me food for thought.
