“How do animals understand things?  I do not know, but it is certain that they do understand.  Perhaps there is a language which is not made of words and everything in the world understands it.  Perhaps there is a soul hidden in everything and it can always speak, without even making a sound, to another soul.”

— Frances Hodgson Burnett

  1. But it’s so much fun watching animals and trying to communicate with them, based on believing that they are doing their best to communicate to us. We have to learn their means of “speaking” and then try to answer in kind, with kindness.
I love Frances Burnett’s concept of Soul speaking to Soul regardless of the language or the outer aspect of the speakers. Thank you.
